Schotman is a relatively young player in the spirit drinks market. But as with many well-known Dutch distilleries, distilleries and distilleries, pure craftsmanship is central to Schotman. The secret of a good Peated Whiskey was already known to owner and Liquorist Eric Koster. The idea for Peated Rum is without a doubt going to cause a revolution.
Worldwide patent
“Peated Rum did not exist to this day,” says Eric Koster of Schotman. “Intensive research showed that it is really unique and that is why we were able to apply for a patent. Schotman is the only one in the world who can and may make it. And we are already very far with that at the moment. The first release has been in casks for months now and we will be able to launch the first Peated Rum in mid-2021.”
